IS YOUR CHRISTMAS TO-DO LIST PUSHING YOUR GOALS TO THE BACK BURNER?

+ 3 WAYS TO DEAL WITH OVERWHELM DURING THE HOLIDAYS

Can you believe we are only 5 days away from Christmas?! I can't help but ask myself, "where has the time gone?!"

As we are counting down the final days until the big man arrives, are you finding yourself putting your personal + biz goals on hold in order to tick more things off your Christmas to-do list?

While it's so much fun AND important to enjoy the holiday season, don't let it stop you from achieving the goals you set for yourself in 2016.

Let's find out if holiday overwhelm has caused you to put your goals on hold, and how to deal with that overwhelm!

HAVE YOU BEEN PUTTING YOURSELF LAST THIS HOLIDAY?

If the overwhelm you're experiencing from your Christmas to-do's is preventing you from taking any action on your goals, stop right there.

Christmas is my favourite time of year and I'm all about binge watching Elf, shopping til you drop, and indulging in all the wine + candy cane ice cream you can physically consume. However, there still needs to be balance.

Just because it's Christmas, it doesn't mean you should forget about yourself + all the goals you set for yourself this year.

Have you kept up with those gym workouts? Have you kept up with your weekly blog posts or newsletters? What about the work you're doing to launch your business?

If all of this has gone on hold because the holidays have you in a hot mess, be like Frosty and freeze for a second.

You set goals in January 2016 for a reason. When you put them on hold during the holidays you are telling the Universe you're not that serious about them. In return, you receive 'not that serious' results.

If you just had an 'oh sh*t' moment of realization, don't worry. I'm going to tell you how to fix it and make the final days of 2016 count.

HOW TO DEAL WITH OVERWHELM DURING THE HOLIDAYS

Here are 3 ways to deal with overwhelm this season and ensure that your personal + biz goals don't get put last. There is still tons of time left in 2016 to make things happen, so don't feel like it's too late!

ONE: MAKE TIME FOR YOU

Christmas is probably the busiest time of year. Between the christmas shopping, cooking, baking, present-wrapping, wine drinking, and holiday partying, it's hard to find extra time, I get it. The trick here is to make time for YOU and your goals, before anything else.

Use a paper or online planner/scheduling system to map out your days over the holidays. Set aside time for your personal + biz goals first. Schedule your workouts, self-care, and the time you're going to work on your business. THEN schedule in your holiday to-do's.

If you put yourself last, it's likely you won't end up making time for yourself. If you put yourself first, I guarantee you'll still find the time to complete everything on your holiday to-do list.

TWO: DON'T WAIT FOR THE NEW YEAR

As we get caught up in the beautiful Christmas season, it's easy to say things like:

+ "I'll just wait for the new year to start working on my business"

+ "I'll just wait for the new year to start working out again"

+ "I'll just wait for the new year to invest in myself and my business"

This is a VERY slippery slope, that you don't want to toboggan down! You will end up creating a bad habit where you constantly push things aside to wait for a "better time."

The truth is there will never be a "better time," and timing will never feel perfect. Commit to showing up for your goals anyway. This is when you will achieve them.

THREE: DON'T BE SO HARD ON YOURSELF

Things don't always go as planned. Be OK with that. You will experience so much less stress over this busy season if you accept that things won't always be perfect.

The purpose of this holiday is to spend time with the ones you love + spread the love and Christmas spirit everywhere you go.

If you're constantly stressing about your goals and to-do list, it becomes almost impossible to enjoy the season. While it's important to focus on them, don't stress about everything being perfect.

You might not get to every single Christmas market, or find the perfect gift for everyone on your list. Just the same, you might not make it to 5 workouts a week, or book as many client calls as you'd like.

Don't beat yourself up over it.

Be committed to yourself and your goals, but don't be so attached to the outcome to the point where you're constantly stressed.

I'VE BEEN THERE TOO

Overwhelm isn't fun.

I've been overwhelmed to the point where I didn't take any action on my goals because I just didn't know how. I finally decided I wasn't doing myself or anyone else any service by staying stuck and taking no action. I hired a coach, got the support I needed and began to watch the overwhelm disappear.

I have experienced so many positive shifts since learning how to deal with overwhelm.

If you are feeling overwhelm to the point where you constantly feel stuck and can't take any action, know that it doesn't have to be this way.

Use these tips to de-stress this holiday and put yourself + your goals first.

You're worth it.

love + abundance,

kelly xx
