PALM SPRINGS TRAVEL GUIDE
As soon as you land in Palm Springs it just feels magical. The airport is probably the cutest airport I’ve ever seen in my life. A lot of it is outdoors... like you walk outside to get to the baggage claim and are surrounded by the sun and palms. They even have outdoor restaurants and patios. Maybe this is normal and we just don't have this in Canada? Either way, it’s perfect. I would totally recommend Palm Springs for a girls trip, like ours or a bachelorette party! Also would be a great spot for a relaxing retreat, a couples trip and a quick weekend getaway. What I loved about going to Palm Springs was how cute and Instagramable everything is (even the airport is insanely beautiful which makes travelling so much better) and how many great restaurants there were - because I think we can all agree, good food and tasty drinks are top priorities!
WHERE TO STAY
We stayed in an Airbnb, which was amazing. It had a beautiful pool (totally recommend getting an Airbnb with a pool) AND a grapefruit tree - how cute!! I can’t really give a personal opinion on hotels BUT, these were the ones that stood out:
+ La Serena Villas - we were supposed to stay here one night but then ended up just staying in the Airbnb all nights. It is so cute!!!! We went to their rooftop restaurant multiple times.
+ Kimpton Rowan - love a Kimpton hotel and this one has a really cute rooftop pool!
+ The Parker - super nice spot! You’ll pay more but if you have a bigger budget definitely check it out.
+ V Hotel Palm Springs - I’ve heard really good things about this spot! This is where Revolve also hosted the Revolve Festival!
Travel Tip: Double check that your hotel or Airbnb is actually in Palm Springs if that’s where you want to stay! Palm Desert and Joshua tree are also close-ish and some hotels/Airbnb’s in these locations are likely to show up. A couple of the girls I was with booked an Airbnb in Joshua tree and although I’m sure it was incredible, it was a bit further than they would have liked from Palm Springs!
MY FAVE SPOTS TO EAT
+ Azúcar Restaurant at La Serena Villas Rooftop - so good!! We went twice in 3 days it was that good! Also a great spot for an IG pic. Definitely get the guac and chips (one day they had jalepenos in it and it was insane) and a spicy skinny margarita! The watermelon salad and cauliflower risotto are also to die for. We did a lunch and a happy hour here and it was perfect!
+ The Pink Cabana at The Sands Hotel & Spa - Super cute vibe here!! My friend and I had the lamb shank (OMFG - like I can’t even put into words how good it was) and the wild mushroom tagliatelle (also amazing). I think I had the smoked sage margarita - regardless, they have a great cocktail list!
+ Counter Reformation (wine bar at the Parker) - go drink all the wine and split all the food with your bestie! And take a pic in the confessional booth. It’s all bar seating which I wasn’t sure about at first but it ended up being a really cool atmosphere and feels very exclusive! Have a cocktail in the Parker lobby as well!
+ If you’re postmates-ing it or want something healthy I recommend Fresh Juice Bar or Nature's Health Food & Cafe!
DRINKS AND PARTY TIME
For this very important part of the agenda all of the restaurants we went to are super fun for some cocktails! We only went to one bar and it was a bit of a dive (The Nest in Indian Wells) but we sang and danced our hearts out for an hour, had a couple Tito's sodas and then jammed out to Brittney Spears on the Uber ride home! We didn’t spend a lot of time out late night, we opted for hot tubbing + partying at the Airbnb and taking shots of Tito’s from the bottle instead!
SPA
I had a facial at Two Bunch Palms and it was sooo good!
My friend treated me so I can’t remember what kind of facial it was but it seemed like a custom one which made it all the more special. I had to catch a flight after so I didn’t get to use too many of the facilities but definitely spend some time here and take advantage of all this spa has to offer!
